This Is My Story Weekly Creative Challenge – Hello, My Name Is…

My 2021 Weekly Creative Challenge is called ‘This is My Story’ and I’m hosting this challenge in both my Close to My Heart Customer Group and in my Close to My Heart Team Group. Every Monday morning, I post a ‘Story Starter Prompt’ and challenge everyone (including myself) to use the prompt and tell their stories. The challenge is to use the story along with at least one photo to illustrate the story and create a scrapbook layout. They can use any size and format of scrapbook that they would like to! The challenge is going great and I LOVE seeing everyone’s layouts but I especially enjoy reading the stories and learning so much about everyone. If you’re not in my customer group on Facebook, I’d love for you to join us!

Hello My Name Is…

Today, I thought I would share the layout I created for our Story Starter Prompt, ‘Hello, My Name is…’. Our prompt was to tell the story about your name and if you were named after anyone, etc. It was so fun reading everyone’s stories and learning more about them! I was named Cindy Michelle Price when I was born. My mom didn’t name me Cynthia, but people often try to call me that and I don’t like it. lol

Have you told the story about how you got your birth name, yet? I’d love to hear your story!

Here is My Layout:

Supplies Used:

This layout uses Blue Belle Cardstock for the base pages and then I used the ‘Lovely’ Paper Pack from our Annual Core Catalog.

I matted the photos in Ballerina and Blue Belle Cardstock and used the ZipStrips along the bottom from the Lovely Paper Pack.

I used the sticker alphabet letters from the Happiness Lives Here Paper Pack and I used the Happiness Lives Here Wood Shapes  and the Clear Sparkles to embellish.

Finishing Touches:

I used the Blue Belle Shimmer Brush to add some splatters to the White Daisy Cardstock Background. I added color to the Wood Shapes using our Exclusive Ink Pads and Sponge Daubers  and I used the Clear Shimmer Brush over the top of the Wood Shapes after the Ink was dry. You might be able to see the ‘shimmer’ in this close-up photo below.

I have very few photos from my childhood, but I definitely feel blessed to have the few that I do. I scanned the originals and resized them using the Project Life App and my Canon Selphy Printer.

I am really enjoying telling these important life stories and getting to read all of the others as well. If you’d like to join my Weekly Creative Challenge!, just message me and I’d be happy to help you get started telling your story!
