Each week in both my customer and consultant Facebook Groups, I am doing a ‘Throwback Thursday’ Challenge, where we are completing layouts that are in need of photos, journaling, etc. I have so many layouts without photos from teaching monthly classes with Close to My Heart for 21 years. I am determined to complete at least ONE layout per week in 2020 and get those layouts out of storage boxes and into my scrapbooks.
I know that lots of scrapbookers have UFO’s (UnFinished Objects) and I would love for you to join me in the ‘Throwback Thursday’ Challenge in 2020. You may have layouts that you completed in a class or at a convention or expo. Maybe you’ve put together a workshop but didn’t get the photos and journaling added or maybe you started a layout and just didn’t get it finished and it ended up in the bottom of the UFO stack!
After our recent move, I had a friend come and help me organize all of the class layouts that I have into categories, so that I will be able to find them easier. I have four large moving boxes full and a 31 tote that we left out in my scrapbook room. I decided that I would pull layouts out of the tote first and get those completed and then start working on those giant boxes in the closet.
I pulled out a 12 x 12 Zip Top Bag two weeks ago that had six double page layouts in it of my brother’s wedding in 2011. I had even added photos to these layouts, but they still needed journaling, some titles and a few embellishments. I have been working on finishing those layouts here and there for the last two weeks and finally got all six completed today! Yay!
Yesterday, I contacted my brother for some help with the journaling on the last two layouts. I had added names, dates and places to the first four layouts and felt like I needed something more meaningful on the last two layouts. So, I went right to the source and he was able to help me with some details about their love story, the proposal, and even the honeymoon.
It feels great to be getting layouts out of boxes and bins and completing them this year! The best feeling is sliding them into a page protector and adding them to my scrapbooks. Don’t you love that feeling? It’s so satisfying!
These layouts and photos were from 2011 and the Close to My Heart Paper Collection was called ‘Sweetheart’. I loved this paper and the fun embellishments! Do you remember this paper from back in the day? I love PINK and this kit has lots of shades of pink in it, including the retired Baby Pink, Cotton Candy and Tulip! Definitely a blast from the past!
Here are the six layouts that I completed over the past two weeks. I hope you enjoy them and that it inspires you to pull out some of your unfinished layouts to complete this week!
I’d love for you to post and share what you’re completing in my VIP Group!
